Natural de Palmas, en las islas Cananas, se radicó en Río Gallegos en 1916. Contrajo enlace con Aurora Fernández, nacida en Cangas de Tineo (Asturias, España) en 1920, y de esa unión nacieron sus cinco hijos; Antonio, Elvia, Alicia, Clara y Armanda.
Instaló su taller de mecánica y herrería en calle Roca, y luego lo trasladó a calle España, donde permaneció el resto de su vida.
En un principio, se dedicó a la instalación de cañerías de agua, atendiendo también en el ámbito rural a estancias como Las Horquetas, María Inés y Los Vascos, entre otras. Reparaba molinos y equipos de esquila.
Con el tiempo, se especializó en calefacción central, instalando las del Banco de la Nación, la Escuela N° 1, Círculo Policial, Base Aeronaval, Municipalidad, etc..
Lo conocí en el Club Hispano Americano. Alguien que no recuerdo, me relató que Don Antonio en su juventud y en cierta oportunidad, reparó una pieza vital de un motor a explosión por el sistema de mayetado, ya que en ese entonces no existían por estas latitudes equipos de soldadura. Fue una reparación que en su momento no pudieron efectuar técnicos traídos de la Capital Federal. El motor siguió funcionando por mucho tiempo. Sin duda esto da fe de una extraordinaria idoneidad y nos habla de un entrañable amor por su trabajo que le acompañó toda su vida.
Don Antonio fue socio fundador del Boxing Club e integrante del Cuerpo de Bomberos Voluntarios.
Personajes como éste, que hicieron de su vida un ejemplo de laboriosidad y rectitud, fueron los pilares sobre los que se construyó la sociedad en estas tierras australes.

He set up his mechanic's garage and metalwork workshop first in Roca street and then transferred it to España street where it remained for the rest of his life.
At first he devoted himself to the installation of water pipe-work, also attending the rural community, serving estancias like Las Horquetas, María Inés, Los Vascos, etc, repairing wind-powered water pumps and also shearing equipment.
In time he specialised in central heating, installing the systems for the buildings of the local branch of the national bank, the provincial school No.1, the pólice social club, the naval air base, the municipal council offices and others.
I knew him at the 'Club Hispano Americano'. Someone told me, I do not now remember who, that don Antonio, in his youth, once repaired a vital piece of an internal combustión engine using the riveting system, since in those days welding equipment did not exist at these latitudes. Even the mechanics brought here from the Federal Capital on that occasion had been unable to carry out the repair. The engine continued working for a long time. This undoubtedly testifies to his exceptional skill and speaks of the deep devotion to his work that accompanied him all his life.
Don Antonio was a founding member of the 'Atlético Boxing Club' and was a member of the volunteer fire brigade.
It was characters such as this, whose lives were examples of industriousness and rectitude, who were the real pillars on which society was built in these distant lands.
